Established in 2005, One Vision International is a nonprofit organization that extends aid and support to seemingly forgotten areas of the world. OVI works with some of the world's most vulnerable people, desiring to meet their immediate physical needs while also bringing hope to an entire community.
We believe actions speak volumes about an organization. Through a combination of ongoing projects including clean water initiatives, emergency feeding projects, agricultural and livestock development, medical clinics, orphanage construction and more, our time, talents, and energy provide tangible acts of kindness to those who need it most. Statistics confirm the needs of the families we serve - the majority live on less than $2 a day.
We strategically rely on indigenous partners and the expertise of our participants to make every trip successful. We don't want to just show compassion on a singular basis; we want all our efforts to ultimately bring sustainability to a community. Once a need is identified, teams are hand-assembled with necessary professionals (builders, doctors, dentists, engineers) and other volunteers to provide assistance to communities in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, and Kenya. By combining the capabilities of individuals on short-term trips with local workers, we seek the best possible chance of sustainability for our projects.
In 2008, One Vision International deployed over 100 trip participants from the United States. In the wake of last year's devastating tropical storms and hurricanes, our teams distributed food to over 3,000 people and provided medical for care for nearly 1,200 others in Haiti. In addition, through our financial partners, One Vision has funded and built 3 wells that provide clean water to nearly 2,000 people daily.
Although we have accomplished much, we are invigorated with the opportunities to love and show kindness to others. The ability to expand our reach requires monetary donations and people who are willing to go. Simply put, we desire to see hope restored in more people through more people.
